LG to air a 60-second spot featuring its OLED TV new era technology. Plus: The brand joins forces with a special father-son duo that’ll have everyone glued to their screens!
Can you guess the secret duo behind LG’s debut Super Bowl 50 commercial? Spoiler Alert! Both have previously directed and produced Super Bowl commercials, including last year’s Budweiser fan-favorite “Lost Dog” and the famous “1984” commercial for Apple.
LG’s debut Super Bowl ad, a 60-second spot, will promote their sophisticated new OLED (“organic light-emitting diodes”) TV. This new flat screen technology is so awesome that football die-hards looking for the best view of the game may want to invest in a new LG TV before kickoff on Super Bowl Sunday.
The new LGs even made Forbes’ top 10 list of the best TVs to hit the market in 2015. What’s more, the brand apparently has in store a “soon-to-be-announced addition to its OLED TV line,” but shh! You didn’t hear that from us!
With Directors Like These….
What’s really got us tuned in, though, is not the brand’s eye-dropping 65-inch flat screen tv with high quality performance, but rather the makers behind the South Korean company’s first ever Super Bowl commercial! LG has hired Sir Ridley Scott’s production company to direct their ad and his talented son, Jake Scott, will be holding the reigns.
Ridley Scott Will Direct LG’s 2016 Super Bowl ad
Yep, The Scotts Are at it Again
If there’s one father-son collaboration that will be sure to ace the brand’s rookie performance, it’s Jake and Ridley Scott. The senior Scott’s RSA Film production company will produce the commercial and the creativity and expertise of both Scotts will definitely make for a unique viewer experience.
Sir Ridley Scott is praised for the creativity he brings to the big screen. He is known for his widely acclaimed film classics like Gladiator, his recent The Martian and one of the best Super Bowl ads of all time, the famous Apple ad, “1984.”
His son, Jake, carries an impressive track record as well when it comes to the Super Bowl. With 6 Super Bowl commercial titles under his belt, his most famous may be last year’s top ranked “Lost Dog” ad for Budweiser.
Bottom Line?
Don’t take a pee break during LG’s 60-second spot on Game Day. Better yet, you may want to get a front row seat at Super Bowl 50 with your very own OLED TV.
