Grab Your Tissues, Budweiser Found Its Lost Puppy

Sequels are tricky. It was hard to believe Budweiser would be able to keep up with last year’s incredible success of the “Puppy Love” commercial. But the guys at Budweiser managed to melt our hearts once again.

The brewer just released their “Lost Dog” commercial and we can already tell , it’s going to be a winner on Game Day. Good thing they didn’t wait until the Super Bowl to air the commercial; we wouldn’t want our friends to witness our soft side. The commercial is so cheesy that even the toughest guy in the room will tear up.

The emotional 60-second sequel, features America’s favorite Labrador puppy who sneaks out and gets lost in the city, only to face a fierce predator until the brewer’s iconic Clydesdales come to his rescue and bring him back home.

“We’re focused more maybe on the puppy than in past,” director Jake Scott told TODAY. “Telling the story through the puppy’s eyes.”

Budweiser’s Super Bowl commercial “Lost Dog” is set to a melancholic acoustic rendition of 1980’s Proclaimers’ hit “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by Sleeping At Last.

The commercial was shot at a ranch outside Santa Barbara, California in early December. Eight puppies – seven females and one male – were used to film the commercial and seven Clydesdales underwent training for three months to be featured in the ad.
