Nissan Super Bowl Race Car - It’s Really Happening

UPDATE (1/21/2015, 10:14PM) :

Nissan just posted on their Facebook account an image of the Nissan GTR-NISMO

Earlier this month we reported that we expect Nissan will expose its new GT-R LM NISMO in Super Bowl XLIX. Speculations and rumors are getting stronger as everything directs that Nissan plans to unveil the new LMP1 car during the big game.

If it weren’t for a group of traveling fans who witnessed the carbon-fiber model making rounds on a COTA circuit, then we probably wouldn’t have even heard about it, according to the car blog jalopnik.com. COTA stands for circuit of the Americas, and is a motor racing circuit right outside of Austin, Texas.

Here are some of the first published images of the race car:

The car blog also tweeted:

“What’s the biggest TV audience in the world at any one time? It’s the Super Bowl. Not only that, but the buzz of the Super Bowl TV ads is worldwide,” said Darren Cox, NISMO global head of brand, marketing & sales. He also said, “You’ve seen what’s happening on social media. If you’re a motor racing fan, I’d say to watch the Super Bowl,” according to Sportscar365.com.

After 18 years, looks like Nissan is making its comeback to the Super Bowl one to remember. Keep up to date with Nissan’s Super Bowl campaign.
