Change Apartments, Change Your Life: Apartments.com Has A Super Bowl-Sized Message

Move on up with Apartments.com! They’ve got Jeff Goldblum and Lil’ Wayne to star in their first Super Bowl commercial! (And they’ve already released a teaser!)

America’s leading apartment database, Apartments.com, will make their debut appearance in Super Bowl 50 with a 60-second ad on the benefits apartment living — and they already have us putting our house up for sale.

The Apartments.com 2016 Super Bowl commercial will be produced by ad agency RPA and is set to air during the second commercial break of the Big Game. The ad marks the first time that a company in the apartment industry makes it to the Super Bowl. Maybe Craigslist and Zillow will join the Game next year for the 2017 Super Bowl?

So what’s it all about?

CMO of Apartments.com, Becky Carr, stated that the ad will promote “apartment lifestyles” and seek to convey that amazing feeling you get when you start fresh in a brand new apartment. Like many of their fellow rookie advertisers, the company is using TV’s biggest stage to try and turn the brand into a household name.

Titled “Movin On Up,” the Apartments.com 2016 Super Bowl ad will feature actor Jeff Goldblum showing off “his music talents” in the role of an eccentric Silicon Valley exec named Brad Bellflower. And if that’s not enough to get you amped, word on the street has it that rapper Lil’ Wayne (yup, you heard correctly) will be joining Goldblum on screen!

Just in Time for a #MovinOnUp Teaser

If their announcement wasn’t enough to make you curious, then the Apartments.com Super Bowl teasers will definitely make you start to wonder. In the first teaser, we catch President George Washington buzzing up to a nonchalant Lil’ Wayne who is chilling in his pad. Washington tells Lil’ Wayne, “I got the buns” and Wayne responds telling him to, “Come on up.” The rest is left up to our imagination…

Judge for yourself in their teaser clip called “The Arrival”:

Apartments.com also let us know that Jeff Goldblum’s character, Brad Bellflower, will be showing up for the Big Game. We first met Mr. Bellflower last March in this video promoting the brand. In it, Bellflower emphasizes how easy it is for people to find an apartment on the site. He ends by saying “change your apartment, change the world.” Now that’s quite a hefty promise!

Because one Big Game just wasn’t enough…

Since they really want to drive their message home (no pun intended), Apartments.com didn’t just stop with a Super Bowl ad. They will also be running eight local commercials during the Super Bowl, in addition to the nationally televised spot.

So there you have it! Apartments.com is joining the Golden Super Bowl ranks alongside these 2016 Super Bowl advertisers! With stars like Goldblum and Lil’ Wayne, this is one Game Day ad we can’t wait to see!
