Amazon’s first Super Bowl commercial will be all about…an Echo

In their debut appearance in honor of Super Bowl 50, Amazon wants to let America know about Echo. And they’ve got former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino and actor Alec Baldwin helping them spread the word.

Who is Alexa? What is Echo?

If you’re confused, you’re not alone, but Amazon is betting that after February 7th, everyone in the States will both know what the Echo is - and be dying to buy one! The Echo device is a voice-activated speaker that responds to the name “Alexa.” Ask Alexa pretty much anything and she’ll promptly answer your question. From the weather and traffic to statistics, facts, jokes and her favorite color - Alexa knows pretty much everything.

Amazon released a teaser for their ad on January 27th. In it, Baldwin and former NFL pro Marino are planning a Super Bowl party. While Dan wants cheerleaders and snacks, Alec is putting his trust in Alexa to help him plan the party. What do you think she recommends…?

How is Alexa Getting Ready for the Big Game?

Just in time for the Big Game debut, Alexa has been revamped and reprogrammed. And she’s officially a football pro! Not only can she play Super Bowl Halftime stars like Beyonce and Coldplay (and any other music you request), but Alexa will be able to report live from Levi’s Stadium with up-to-the-minute details about the Big Game. Believe it or not fact, Alexa is also a Vegas expert; she can predict who will win Super Bowl 50 even better than you!

Needless to say, the Echo is pretty sweet and we may just have to bump it up to the top of the list of must-have Super Bowl gadgets.
