On February 7th, the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers will face-off in Super Bowl 50
It’s official! Quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Cam Newton will be bringing their teams to Super Bowl 50 on February 7th, 2016. So book your tickets to San Francisco, because the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers will be going head to head at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. Last night, each of these teams eked out one more post-season win to secure their place in the Golden Super Bowl.
5-time league MVP, Peyton Manning and his team pulled off a narrow 20-18 victory over reigning Super Bowl champions, the New England Patriots. The Broncos defense was phenomenal and Manning himself grabbed two touchdowns, showing that even at age 39, he still has what it takes. When he makes his fourth appearance on Super Bowl Sunday, he’ll be the oldest quarterback to ever lead a team in the Big Game.
Meanwhile, Cam Newton’s Panthers left no doubt in their decisive 49-15 hammering of the Cardinals. Superman ran for two TDs and threw for two others. Not too shabby.
In honor of these two tremendous quarterbacks, we want to take a minute to see what they’ve been up to off the field. As we know well, commercials are as much a part of the Super Bowl as the rough and tumble on the field. And both Newton and Manning have had their fair share of starring rolls in some fabulous TV ads.
Manning v. Newton: Who Makes the Better TV Star?
We’ve seen Peyton in plenty of ads, for everything from Papa Johns Pizza to Nationwide Insurance. Cam, too, likes to earn some cash on the side doing advertising gigs. He’s starred in spots for Beats, Gatorade and more. In honor of the 2016 Super Bowl, take a gander at the ads that have featured these two talented, Big Game-bound QBs and let us know what you think!
Who Did it Best?
Manning stars in this Papa Johns ad alongside the Texans’ Defensive End, J.J. Watt. As exciting as Peyton’s performance is the news that Papa Johns is holding a Super Bowl 50 special. Buy one large pizza - get the second for just 50 cents!
Not to be outdone on the food and beverage front, Cam Newton did this ad for Gatorade:
Manning, too, has done a Gatorade ad. And it looks like he’s one tough boss. Here’s one from back in 2014:
Showing no lack of self-esteem, we discover the “Cam-cam” in this Foot Locker ad starring Newton:
Before the atrocious 2015 Nationwide Super Bowl commercial during last year’s Big Game, the insurance company ran this much funnier, more successful ad starring a singing Peyton Manning:
Speaking of music, Cam Newton works out (a little too hard?) to Beats by Dr. Dre in this 2015 commercial:
