Honda Will Surely Find Somebody To Love Their New Super Bowl 50 Ad

Highlighting the Honda Ridgeline’s sweet truck-bed audio system, this new Super Bowl ad comes complete with Queen - and signing farm animals!

Ever heard of a sheep choir? Neither have we. But Honda apparently seems to like the idea of singing sheeps and it’s evident in their newly released extended version of their 60-second Super Bowl 50 commercial. Honda had kept the creative details on their ad on the DL, and today we finally get to see what it’s all about!

The 2016 Honda Super Bowl commercial puts the spotlight on the car company’s Ridgeline truck, in particular the car’s super fancy “new truck-bed audio system feature,” — and it looks like it can even make a herd of sheep sing.

A Secret No More…

The ad features all sorts of four legged animals singing along to Queen’s classic “Somebody to Love.” The ad begins with a Ridgeline owner and his dog driving off the field while Queen plays in the background. Once the owner leaves, however, the sheep start belting the tune without a care in the world. When the Honda driver reappears, the animals again grow quiet. The ad closes with an aria and finale, and boy do we get a performance! Move out of the way Beyonce, it looks like the sheep in Honda’s Super Bowl commercial want the spotlight during the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show.

When Will We See It?

The Honda Super Bowl ad will air during the third quarter of CBS’s broadcast of the Big Game on February 7th. It’s also joining these other auto companies in the race for some ad glory, along with the Buick, Toyota and Audi.

What About the Truck?

Honda first introduced the 2017 Ridgeline truck earlier this year in an International Auto Show that also highlighted the Ridgeline’s features.

The Ridgeline is “based on Honda’s Global Light Truck platform” and is said to have a “rigid yet lightweight unibody construction” and a unique body structure, along with a “sophisticated, fully independent suspension” — promising consumers the ultimate driving experience. The car company announced that the vehicle will be available for purchase to the public in “both front-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations” just in time for the first half of 2016.

And with the Super Bowl being America’s biggest sporting event, they couldn’t have chosen a better time to run an ad for the car model!
