Previous McDonalds Campaigns

McDonald’s has a long history of advertising during the Big Game, although this year and last they’ve been cutting costs by buying ad time in the pre-game show.

In 2016, McDonald’s didn’t officially air a Super Bowl 50 ad, but they did use their spot right before kickoff to let us know that – yippee! – they are now serving up breakfast all day long. What an egg McMuffin at 6pm? Your wish is their command!

Here’s a look at the 2016 McDonald’s Super Bowl ad:

The 2015 McDonald’s Super Bowl commercial

In 2015, in honor of Super Bowl XLIX, their commercial revealed that, between Feb 2-14, 2015, the fast food chain randomly accepted “lovin'” as a form of payment. Instead of cash or credit, a few lucky McDonald’s patrons were asked to pay with hugs, dance moves and calls home to mom.
