Lights, Camera, Action! Audi Back In Gear For 2016 Super Bowl Ad Race

Audi 2016 Super Bowl Commercial

Automaker Audi returns to the Super Bowl commercial scene with a 60-second spot

Just when we thought there wouldn’t be any more auto brands daring to join the crowded Super Bowl field, Audi surprised us with an exciting announcement. After taking a year off from the Super Bowl game, Volkswagen’s very own Audi is making a comeback in the Super Bowl ad race - and boy do they have one hell of an ad in place!

Their 60-second ad will be called “The Commander” and is costing Audi a whopping $10 million big ones! (And that’s just for the airtime on CBS’s broadcast of the Big Game.) Will it star Obama - the commander in chief? We’ll just have to wait and see!

Though we don’t have too many details on the creative aspects of this year’s ad, we do know that the 2016 Audi Super Bowl commercial will play off a shared message between the brand’s “pursuit of mobility’s unfolding horizons and the brave commanders who have explored the final frontier.” (Sounds a bit dramatic for a car company, but we’ll let this one slide.)

Audi’s last appearance in the Big Game was in Super Bowl XLVIII (2014) with an ad called “Doberhuahau,” that was meant to show consumers that Audi was “designed without compromise.”

No news yet about which agency is calling the shots, or where exactly throughout the game it’s supposed to be airing, but we’re super excited to see the Audi Super Bowl 50 commercial take on the race against the many other car companies who are advertising on Super Bowl Sunday, February 7, 2016.

All this waiting making you anxious for the Game Day commercials? Here’s an inside scoop into everything you need to know about the 2016 Super Bowl commercials.
