Shock Top beer is owned by Anheuser-Busch, the largest brewing company in the United States. Their other well known brands include Budweiser, Busch, Michelob, Bud Light, Natural Light and many others.
Created as a seasonal beer in 2006, Shock Top was originally called “Spring Heat Spiced Wheat.” Brewed in Fort Collins, CO, the Belgian-style wheat beer with 5.2% alcohol. The beer immediately made a splash, winning gold and bronze in the 2006 and 2007 North America Beer Awards for Best Belgian White.
Shock Top also produces some yummy seasonal varieties including Pumpkin Wheat, Raspberry Wheat, Wheat IPA, Lemon Shandy and Honeycrisp Apple. The beer’s main competitor is Blue Moon, owned by beer giant Miller Coors.
