Like last year, Pepsi concentrated most of it’s high-fizz energy on the famous Super Bowl halftime show, which they sponsored for the fourth year in a row. (They have signed on to a 10-year sponsorship agreement with the NFL.) This year, the British rock band, Coldplay headlined the show and were joined by Beyonce and Bruno Mars.
Pepsi’s Super Bowl 50 commercial
The soda-giant did create one in-game commercial and it was a fun musical medley that took us on a journey through the lat 50 years. Beginning in the 1960s, we watched star Janelle Monáe dance her way through the years to classics by The Contours, Madonna and more.
In the past decade, Pepsi has been the second-biggest advertiser in the Super Bowl. From 1999 to 2008, the company spent $143 million in total on Super Bowl ads. (source: Focus Management International)
