Can you imagine a whole company designed just to promote delicious, creamy avocados? And not just any avocados, but only those lucky ones hailing from South of the Border.
Well it’s real! Avocados from Mexico is a relatively new company, founded in 2013, but they have become a regular contender in the Super Bowl Sunday ad game! Initially a nonprofit, the company was conceived of as a collaborative project of the Mexican Hass Avocados Importers Association, MHAIA and The Association of Growers and Packers of Avocados From Mexico (APEAM). Today, the company is based in Irving, Texas and is hoping to increase the demand for avocados in the United States.
It seems to be catching on! The brand boasts 1.6 billion media impressions in 2014- 2015 and represents more than 60 percent of the U.S. market share for avocados. Consider that Americans purchased 1,699,664,693 pounds of avocados in 2014 – now that sure is a lot of guac!
